Environmental, Health and Safety Policy
Dana Incorporated – Power Technologies Group is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment, practicing sustainable development, and balancing the pursuit of economic growth with the protection of the natural environment without compromising the safety of our employees. The protection of employees through the prevention of injury and ill health is a major continuing objective and all supervisors and their people must be dedicated to the continuing objective of reducing risk of injury.
Employers are ultimately responsible for their people’s health and safety. As General Manager of the Power Technologies group, I give you my personal promise that every reasonable precaution will be taken for the protection of our people.
Managers have a special obligation to keep informed about environmental, health and safety issues, so that they may demonstrate their commitment to environmental health and safety. Supervisors will be held accountable for the health and safety of the people under their supervision. Supervisors are responsible to ensure that machinery and equipment are safe and that all people work in compliance with legal requirements and established safe work practices and procedures. Responsibility is not limited to Supervisors – all employees are responsible for working safely in accordance with legal requirements and established safe work practices and procedures. Supervisors and all employees together must ensure that all people receive adequate training in their specific work tasks to protect their health and safety.
In our business practices, Dana Incorporated - Power Technologies Group will develop products and processes in a safe and environmentally conscious manner. We believe that controlling risk, minimizing pollution and optimizing the utilization of resources, including chemicals, water and energy, are essential principles in all facility operations. Thus, in our design, manufacturing and development decisions, these guidelines will be considered wherever practicable. We will monitor our progress against program goals, and review training, procedures and resources, in order to continually improve our environmental, health and safety performance.
In support of this commitment, every employee is responsible for taking reasonable care to protect and preserve the environment and to enhance the safety, health and well-being of themselves and of those around them by working in compliance with legal and other company requirements. We will strive to ensure that all products and processes are, at a minimum, in full compliance with applicable government legislation, as well as, with internal policies and standards, customer and other requirements.
It is the responsibility of all persons working for or on behalf of Dana Incorporated - Power Technologies Group to understand and contribute towards the goals of this policy. Commitment to sound environmental protection practices and health and safety will form an integral part of this organization at every level.
